
Mike started his event career at the National Restaurant Association (NRA), before moving to Food Marketing Institute (FMI) where he served as Senior Vice President of Events where he was responsible for producing more than 50 domestic and international events. Under his leadership, FMI’s signature event grew from 215,000 to 525,000 net sq ft with more than 28,000 buyer registrants.
In 1990, Mike founded Convention Management Group (CMG) with the mission of providing turnkey event management solutions to association clients, including top performing Gold 150 Events in a broad range of industries and markets. After a successful 17-year run, CMG was acquired by Naylor Publishing where Mike served as NaylorCMG’s Executive Vice President for several years.
In 2016, Mike was a founding partner of Event Advisory Group, a firm designed to help associations and organizations improve the performance of their trade shows and conferences, including non-dues revenue, exhibit & sponsorship sales, and attendance, enabling clients to advance their missions and advocacy initiatives.
Mike earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Loyola University of Chicago. He is an active member of IAEE. Mike enjoys spending time at the Delaware beaches with his family.
